Physical, social & emotional benefits of sport
Introduced by veteran, Invictus Games competitor and Paralympian Curtis McGrath OAM, this video by Invictus Australia demonstrates how surfing and a sense of community can aid in transitioning from the military, and on the journey toward rehabilitation and recovery.
This video features Brigid Baker, a veteran seeking a competitive edge through sport. Brigid represented Tasmania in track & field as a junior, aiming to qualify for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The Australian Army veteran now competes in a range of adaptive sports including athletics, wheelchair Rugby League and indoor rowing and plays an ongoing role in Brigid’s recovery.
The Invictus Games legacy for ongoing recovery
