In competitive sport for people with disability, a classification system is used so competitors with impairments can compete at an equivalent level. These classifications are often sport specific. For more information you can visit Paralympics Australia or the International Paralympic Committee.

In the Invictus competition, a slightly different approach is used, called Categorisation. Categorisation loosely follows the same principles as classification but is a different system that is built and updated for each Games, and provided by each organizing committee.
