Austability joins Invictus Australia as Supporting Partner of Team Australia for the Invictus Germany Sports Festival 2026

Invictus Australia is proud to announce Austability, an Australian-owned global defence and security company, as the Supporting Partner of Team Australia for the Invictus Germany Sports Festival 2026

Founded in 2015 and built on more than 30 years of combined veteran and defence-sector experience, Austability delivers integrated operational support services across four continents. With a workforce predominantly made up of veterans, Austability’s mission to foster peace, stability and opportunity aligns with Invictus Australia’s focus on strengthening the health and wellbeing of the veteran community.

This sponsorship builds on the organisations’ existing connection through their mutual support of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) Postvention Workshop, a transformative program designed for veteran families bereaved by suicide.

As the Supporting Partner of Team Australia, who will compete at the Invictus Germany Sports Festival in June 2026, Austability will stand alongside veterans and their families, reflecting a shared commitment to honouring service and creating pathways for veterans to thrive beyond their military careers.

Austability Governor General Ben Khandan said the partnership reflects the strong alignment between the two organisations and their shared commitment to supporting the veteran community.

“With a workforce predominantly comprised of former service men and women, we share Invictus Australia’s deep commitment to resilience, recovery and community,” Mr Khandan said.

Supporting Team Australia at the IGSF brings to life the core values of our business and reinforces our dedication to create pathways for those who have served.”

GOVENOR GENERAL, AUSTABILITY

Mr Khandan recently had the opportunity to see the impact of its support firsthand at an Invictus Australia Adaptive Sports Program (ASP) Camp held at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) last week. The camp brought together veterans participating in adaptive sport, including members of the Team Australia cohort who will go on to attend the Invictus Germany Sports Festival.

Coach and Invictus Australia Veteran Engagement Manager Vanessa Broughill said the camp demonstrated how practical support from partners like Austability helps make these opportunities possible for veterans and their families.

“The support of organisations like Austability is amazing. They have the attitude towards everything that Invictus Australia is all about – asking ‘what can we do?’ and ‘how can we make it possible?’ Bringing that resilience and commitment to community of both organisations together is so impactful.”

By leveraging Invictus Australia’s sporting expertise and national network, Austability will help empower this initiative that encourages physical activity, community connection and long term wellbeing for veteran families.

Austability will serve as a Supporting Partner of Team Australia for the Invictus Germany Sports Festival, with the company’s logo adorning team uniforms.

IGSF 2026 is a multinational adaptive sports festival hosted in Dusseldorf, Germany from 12-14 June 2026 and brings together wounded, injured and ill current and former serving veterans from around the world.

Competitors will engage in a range of adaptive sports that showcase resilience, recovery and camaraderie, including sitting volleyball, indoor rowing, spinning and table tennis, that highlight individual and team strengths.

Ben Khandan, Governor General of Austability Australia said the partnership with Invictus Australia is a natural fit for Austability.

“With a workforce predominantly comprised of former service men and women, we share Invictus Australia’s deep commitment to resilience, recovery and community,” Mr Khandan said.

“Supporting Team Australia at the IGSF brings to life the core values of our business and reinforces our dedication to create pathways for those who have served.”

The partnership aligns Austability’s workforce of veterans with Invictus Australia’s mission to support the health and wellbeing of veterans and their families through sport and recreation, carrying forward the legacy of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 in Australia.

Michael Hartung, CEO, Invictus Australia said he is grateful for Austability’s support as a proud partner for Team Australia at the IGSF.

“Austability’s sponsorship of Team Australia on the road to the IGSF delivers meaningful, tangible support that directly changes the lives of wounded, injured and ill ADF veterans – a community we know is close to Austability’s heart.

This partnership strengthens our mission to foster ongoing health, wellbeing and purpose through sport. We’re proud to stand alongside Austability and look forward to the powerful impact we can create together as our competitors prepare for June and the journey beyond.”

Training camps for IGSF commenced in March 2026, with more scheduled before Team Australia heads to Germany to compete in June 2026.
