A Shared Vision for Inclusion and Impact
The MOU brings together AMG and IA to create a more inclusive sporting landscape, with IA encouraging veterans across the country to participate in the 20th Australian Masters Games in Canberra from 18 – 25 October, 2025.
“Sport is a powerful tool for recovery, resilience, and reconnection,” said AMG General Manager Adam Drinkwell.
“We’ve seen firsthand the strength and spirit of current and former Australian Defence Force (ADF) members who’ve competed at past Games. Their stories of determination and camaraderie are a reminder of how sport can truly transform lives,” Drinkwell explained.
“Through this partnership with Invictus Australia, we’re proud to open the door even wider. We’re pleased to offer a welcoming, inclusive platform where veterans, their families, and wider networks can rediscover the joy of sport, build lasting connections, and continue writing their own inspiring chapters,” Drinkwell said.
IA, which supports the recovery and rehabilitation of veterans through sport and recreation, sees the Games as a perfect fit for its mission.
“The Australian Masters Games offers a truly unique and inclusive environment, one that reflects the values at the core of Invictus Australia,” said Adam Pine, IA Director of Teams, Pathway & Alumni.
“We’re proud to partner with AMG to amplify the voices and stories of our veteran community and to provide more opportunities for them to thrive through the power of sport. Together, we’re not just creating access, we’re building a lasting legacy of inclusion and support,” Pine added.
As the countdown to the 20th Australian Masters Games continues, this MOU highlights the power of sport to unite, inspire and transform lives. Veterans of all skill levels and backgrounds are encouraged to participate in more than 40 sports on offer, alongside thousands of masters athletes from across Australia and beyond.
