Defence Community Sports Expo – Cooloongup -WA

Join us for the WA Defence Community Sports Expo on 15 Sept! A fun-filled day of sports, connection, and community for all.

A welcoming family day that creates a unique opportunity for current and former serving veterans and their families to explore a variety of sports and connect with ex-service organisations (ESOs) whilst also having the opportunity to connect with like-minded veterans and their families.

Attendees will have the chance to try a variety of sports and activities that the whole family can enjoy, as well as a range of information booths by organisations supporting veterans.

Fast-paced, dynamic, and packed with teamwork—Wheelchair Basketball is a must-see at any adaptive sporting event, including the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. It’s always a crowd favourite 🏀  With five players on the court at a time, competitors showcase speed, agility, and sharp tactical skills, maneuvering their wheelchairs to outplay opponents, shoot hoops, and defend their baskets. With the same height hoops as in traditional basketball, this sport highlights incredible precision and endurance of all competitors.  Hear from Invictus Games alumnus and former coach Joel Vanderzwan as he shares his passion for this exhilarating sport.
