
Invictus Australia’s Team Veteran at the 20th Australian Masters Games
Invictus Australia (IA) provides the Australian defence community avenues to connect through the power of sport. Through multiple sporting and recreational events across Australia, Team Veteran serves as an opportunity to bring the veterans and family members already attending together, for a chance to connect. If you are a current or former serving defence member, or a family member of, this is where Team Veteran will enable you to connect with other likeminded individuals.
This year, the Australian Masters’ Games will be held, from the 18th – 25th of October in Canberra, ACT. Invictus Australia is encouraging all veterans and family members to take part in this event at a discounted rate, offered as a part of our relationship with the host organisers. We encourage you to sign up and get involved in the more than 50 sports on offer.
Team Veteran is not a specific team in any one sport of the Australian Masters Games, it offers a connection point for those who are a part of the defence community, whether volunteering or competing, to come together and cheer for each other over the course of the Australian Masters Games. Veterans and families can compete as part of their local sport team and in addition be part of Team Veteran during the Games.

How do I connect with Invictus Australia and Team Veteran during the Masters Games?

- Register as per the instruction on the Australian Masters Games Website
- Once you have registered your personal details, you will be asked to complete a participant survey. As part of this survey, you will see an ADF Veteran section. Make sure that you fill this section out and tick YES to the ‘Would you like to join Team Veteran at the Australian Masters Games?‘ question. This will allow Invictus Australia to contact you about connection opportunities that will take place during the event.
- When on the ‘Submit your Registration’ page, there is a discount code section where you can enter the below codes (in accordance with your registration type) to get 25% off your registration.

What does Team Veteran mean for my Australian Masters Games experience?
Being a part of Team Veteran gives you access to a discounted registration and the opportunity to connect with others in the defence community throughout the competition. Invictus Australia will be providing updates via email to those who select Team Veteran in their registration, including details on the connection points throughout the Masters Games.
Each person who selects to be a part of Team Veteran will have the opportunity to collect a ‘Team Veteran’ t-shirt at a designated time and location on site at the Masters Games.
Invictus Australia will not be providing coaching staff or training sessions in the lead up to this competition. Instead, this is an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who will come together during the event. For those who opt in to be a part of Team Veteran during the registration process, it is important to note there are no official obligations to be fulfilled from Invictus Australia’s end. Individuals can choose to be a part of as many or as little as the Team Veteran opportunities as they are comfortable with.
We encourage all veterans and families attending to connect with their local communities in the lead up to the Masters Games, to see other opportunities to get involved in Invictus Australia events and to see who else will be competing in October.
Can I compete in a team sport as part of Team Veteran?
Team Veteran is not an official team of the Australian Masters Games. You will enter your team sports as normal. We encourage veterans and families to join together to create a team in the sport of their choice.

I am part of the wounded, injured or ill veteran community, how do I get my registration reimbursed?
With support of the Invictus Games Foundation, Invictus Australia will be supporting and reimbursing the entry costs for Wounded, Injured or Ill (WII) competitors. Please email support@invictusaustralia.org to find out more.
