Invictus Germany Sports Festival 2026
ADF Service:
I joined 3 days after turning 17, being November 24 2014.My job was infantry and later specialized as a mortarman at 7RAR.
Age: 28
Hometown: Randwick
Current Town: Lake Macquarie
Sporting background:
As a kid, I would play any sport I could. At high school — Hunter Sports High School — I went there to further my prospects of becoming an AFL player. However, during Years 9–10, I found that I really wanted to join the ADF, and after completing work experience at the School of Infantry, I was hooked and began counting down the time until I could enlist.
When did you first connect with the Invictus Movement?
I heard about Invictus from friends and social media.
What role has sport played in your rehabilitation?
Sport has given me the ability to connect and participate in a team environment, with a sense of just having fun (like a kid).
What is your greatest achievement to date?
Being able to leave defence and start a life outside of the Army where I have met my partner, Olivia, and just going through life's journey.
Why did you apply for the Adaptive Sports Program?
2025 was a rough year for me physically and mentally, the Adaptive Sports Program was an opportunity to put myself out there and really give it a go, which I assumed would give me a new positive outlook for the future. Even with my injuries and illnesses, the program has helped refocus my expectations so that im satisfied with what i have achieved.
How did you feel when you were told you would make the team?
I actually was very shocked, but then super grateful for the opportunity and now am super focused on delivering to the best of my abilities.
What will ‘winning’ look like for you at this event?
Winning for me will be giving 100% at all sports and support and cheering on all other Aussie competitors so that we all achieve our goals.
