What is the Nature of your injury or illness?

Mental Health

Sport background:

I started playing sports at a young age in the year 1993, playing Auskick, netball, Calisthenics (Dance), Basketball, Tenpin Bowling, swimming, Athletics and then onto woman’s AFL.

What role has sport played in your rehabilitation?

Sport has helped in many ways, not only physical and fitness, but also has provided social opportunities and teamsmanship.

Why did you apply for the Adaptive Sport Program?

I applied for the Adaptive Sports Program after a friend mentioned it to me. I was suffering with really bad mental health and knew I had to push myself to do something. I know how much sports can help with recovery and knew I needed to give this a try.

What will “success” look like for you at the Allied Winter Sports Camp?

Giving everything a go, getting out of my comfort zone and enjoying the experiences the Winter Camp has to offer.

What is your ultimate goal?

To be a good role model for my children and to raise them to be the best person they can be.

What does Unconquered mean to you?

To not be overcome or defeated due to lack of effort or participation. As trying to do something no matter the outcome, you still walk away with experience and more knowledge.

What is your greatest achievement to date?

My biggest achievement would be not giving up over the past two years. Standing on my own two feet and even in the most difficult days, I was still providing a balanced lifestyle for my two kids.
